Gray County First Responders host Community Appreciation Day Aug. 19

The Gray County First Responders will host a Community Appreciation Day Saturday, August 19. The event will be held at Recreation Park located off Hwy. 60/E. Frederick Ave. in Pampa.

Several events are planned. The day begins with a 13-and-under children's fishing tournament from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A blood drive with Coffee Memorial Blood Center follows running from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A hamburger lunch will be served at noon along with a Child Identification Card event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a bicycle registration and first responder demonstrations from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the Pampa ISD will be distributing backpacks and school supplies throughout the day.

Other events include classic cars, water polo, face painting, bounce houses, informational/sign-up booths and local cheerleaders/drumline performances.
