BBB announces regional award winners

Amarillo, Texas – February 8, 2016 – The Better Business Bureau announces finalists in the 2016 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics competition.

The Torch Awards are a best practice education and recognition program that honors companies who are practicing responsibly. These companies have all demonstrated the highest standards of Trust! This year’s finalists are:

Small Business Category:

A& R Plumbing Heating & Air a family owned and operated Amarillo company in business since 1969. The company claims a positive attitude, ambitious, upbeat, confident, hardworking, well groomed, and honest.

Custom Gardens whose mission is to advance the landscape profession in the Texas Panhandle. This mission began in 2001 with the goal of enhancing the beautiful homes and buildings.

Medium Business:

Cross Pointe Auto a retail automobile sales company in Amarillo since 1996. The company is made up of team members who are hired by each other, agree to work together, train together and sign an agreement of expectations.

The Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics not only recognizes businesses that make it to this level, they also serve to recognize reputable business practices overall. “Good businesses make a good community, one where people want to live, work and do business,” said Janna Kiehl, CEO of the BBB.

Also awarded will be The Excellence in Community Service Award, given to an individual who has shown unfailing dedication to serving the community and brings the core values set forth by the BBB to their everyday practices. This year’s recipient is Eveline Rivers, Founder/Executive Director of Eveline Rivers Christmas Project.
