Snow and ice over the holiday

Though they may be unable to reach every remote road across the Panhandle, the region's snow plows offer much needed assistance for drivers to help them navigate icy highways

Less than a week after the official start of winter the region saw it's first heavy snowfall of winter. While many residents were fortunate enough to skip the treacherous icy roads thanks to their Thanksgiving time off, Black Friday shoppers and commuters were forced to deal with hazardous conditions thanks to a frozen layer of freezing rain left on most highways. Thankfully, snow plows like the one pictured were out in full force to help make roadways a bit safer.
