Authorities hope dogs searching the wreckage of two trains that collided last week in a fiery head-on crash near Panhandle will find the remains of a conductor whose body has yet to be located. BNSF Railway spokesman Joe Faust said Wednesday that funerals have been held for another conductor and an engineer whose remains were recovered a day after the June 28 wreck.

The remains of the two train crew members found June 29 were identified by family members as Cody Owens, 52, of Claude and Kenneth Smith, 59, of Amarillo. According to an obituary submitted by Meyers Funeral Chapels in Kansas City, Mo., Lara Taylor, 45, of Amarillo is the third BNSF Railway crew member killed.

Faust says an engineer who jumped from one of the trains ahead of the crash remains hospitalized in stable condition.
