Romo injured as Cowboys fall to Panthers

The defending NFC East champion Cowboys (3-8) were knocked out of the playoffs in Thanksgiving Day action. The undefeated Carolina Panthers (11-0) dominated the Dallas Cowboys (3-8) with a commanding 33-14 victory on the road in Arlington. The Panthers defense showed why they are the league's best intercepting Romo multiple times and eventually knocking him from the game. Romo re-injured the same collarbone that sidelined him earlier this season. The damage was severe enough that he'll miss the remainder of the season.

Next up for the Cowboys is a Monday night road game against the Washington Redskins on Dec. 7. With just five games remaining in the season, the Cowboys will need to find a way to win without their star quarterback.
