Homecoming festivities planned in Fritch and Stinnett

Tonight and on Friday, West Texas High School is celebrating homecoming and have a couple of special activities schedule for students and Comanche fans to take part in.Tonight following the junior varsity football game, the school is holding a big pep rally at the football field scheduled to begin around 9:00 p.m. Due to the county burn ban, the lighting of the “WT” will not take place this year.On Friday, the high school will host a pep rally at the WT Field House starting at 2:30 p.m.This year marks the 25th anniversary of when Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidated Independent School District was formed and the school district has a couple of activities planned to celebrate the anniversary.During Friday night’s game against Spearman, the West Texas High Comanches football team will wear Phillips Blackhawk jerseys during one half and Stinnett Rattler jerseys during the other half if the jerseys come in on time. The West Texas High Cheerleaders will wear Plemons uniforms throughout the game. Friday night’s game between Spearman and West Texas High will kick off at 7:30 p.m. in Stinnett.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Due to the burn ban, Sanford-Fritch High School does not have a wide slate of homecoming activities planned. Sanford-Fritch High School will hold a home pep rally at 9:45 a.m. and a band dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2011, at the high school. Pre-homecoming events will start at 7:00 p.m. Friday and the game against Canadian High School will begin at 7:30 p.m.
