Gomez captures 2016 Sony Open in Hawaii

Fabian Gomez, a native of Argentina, won the 2016 Sony Open in Hawaii. Gomez and Brandt Snedeker both finished tied at 20-under-par at Waialae Country Club. Gomez fired a final-round 62, then birded the second playoff hole to capture his second PGA TOUR win. Amarillo native Ryan Palmer finished tied for 13th carding a 12-under-par score.

The next event tour event is the CareerBuilder Challenge which begins the tour's West Coast Swing. The first round is Thursday, January 21.
