Multiple Fires Near Fritch Reported

Multiple fires have been reported around the Fritch area. One fire has been actively reported between Fritch and Amarillo, on Highway 136. Evacuations were called for in the Double Diamond residential area, as well as any residents living in the Arrowhead area.

Multiple agencies are working a wildfire located near the East City limits of Borger at the limb pile. This was not a controlled burn and the cause of the ignition will be under investigation.

Grass fire north of Pampa torches nearly 11,300 acres

Over a dozen area fire departments are battling a grass fire that started 30 miles north of Pampa. Nearly 11,300 acres of land have been consumed so far. The Chisum Ranch fire started near Highway 70 early Monday afternoon. No structures or vehicles have been damaged so far.

Fritch VFD adds a military vehicle to fleet

The Fritch Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) recently added a converted Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck to their fleet. "Fritch is on the banks of the Canadian River with broken terrain that can be difficult to maneuver," said Fire Chief Ed Adamson.
