Fredia “Junie” Boyer, 80, born April 11, 1933 died on October 27, 2013
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013 at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Clarence McDaniel officiating.
Mrs. Boyer was born on April 11, 1933 in Forestburg to Johnnie and Maggie Landers. She attended school in Borger, where she graduated from Borger High School in 1950. She married Garry Boyer on June 30, 1950 in Borger. There, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She attended Frank-Phillips College before moving to Lubbock. Fredia worked as a secretary for various companies, including Phillips Petroleum where she worked in the personnel department in the Borger area, the Greyhound Bus Station in Lubbock, TNT Trucking in Amarillo and most recently, the Amarillo Senior Citizen’s Center. She and Garry lived in Fritch for close to 30 years. There, Fredia was a member of Xi Lambda Gamma and was voted Girl of the Year and Valentine Queen. Together she and Garry moved to Amarillo, where they have spent the last 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, painting, reading and dancing and especially the holidays with her family. Fredia was a member of the Bridge Club and bowling league. She also enjoyed attending her family’s sporting events. Most of all, she loved being “Mimi” to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by her husband, Garry Boyer of Amarillo; 3 sons, Garry Michael Boyer of Amarillo, Greg Boyer and wife Gwen of Leonard and Rodney Boyer and wife Debbie of Canyon; 2 daughters, Shari Gillean and husband John of Denton and Terri Huseman and husband Dwayne of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren, Micah Boyer, Becca Boyer-Brooke, Blake Boyer, Ryan Huseman, Amber Huseman, Shane Huseman, Mindi Huseman, J.J. Boyer, Tanner Boyer, Tyler Boyer, Kristi Boyer, Tera Boyer, Daniel Gillean, Sarah Gillean-Felts, Leah Gillean, James Gillean and Mark Gillean and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents; brother, Edward Lander and 4 sisters, Wanda Maddox, Murlene Atkinson, Christene Box and Inez Sheen.
