The Borger ISD board is set to meet this Thursday, March 8, 2013, in the board room of the Borger ISD Administration Building. The meeting is set for 7 p.m.
Campus/district reports will be presented, which includes Borger High School Activities and Initiatives, Borger Intermediate School Activities, Gateway Elementary School Activities, and Borger Athletic Activities. This last report will pertain to banners and the middle school gym floors.
Under the superintendent's report, enrollment numbers for February 2013 will be presented. Information on the Region 16 Education Service Center Board of Director's Election will be reviewed by the board, along with dates to review. The first reading of Policy Update 96 affecting local policies will take place.
The board will consider various items under its consent agenda, which include February 2013 payroll and disbursements, donations, and February meeting minutes.
Action will be taken on the 2013-14 BISD school calendar, Local District Update – DK (local), certification of the board election, an order of cancellation of the election, and a resolution cancelling the trustee election.
Financial reports will be presented, which includes a second quarter investment report. Reports will also be given on taxes and present bond refunding savings.
In terms of personnel matters, the board will review substitutes, receive resignations, evaluate professional staff, consider and act on the termination of probationary teacher contracts, and consider the superintendent's recommendations regarding the employment of teachers and other non-administrative staff.
Future agenda items will be discussed, and a time of open forum will be held for the public to discuss its views with the board. Speakers are allowed five minutes, and the board cannot comment on items brought up in open forum.
