It's always nice to go into rival Pampa's gym and win. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, that would not happen in the district matchup on Friday night.
The ladies were up first in what turned out to be a close game.
Pampa took a quick 5-0 lead on the Lady Bulldogs. Wood had some solid rebounds under the basket for Borger and also two quick jumpers for their first scores. Lawson steals to start the second, but Borger turns it right over. Prater finds Wood on the block for an easy two. Wood and Dickson would go perfect from the free throw line, Dickson making shooting 4 for 4. A steal from Loftis leads to no points for Borger, and Pampa drains a three to end the half up 32-19.

With 2.6 seconds left in the third, Loftis hits a big three from near half court to bring the Lady Dogs within four.
Borger was fighting that four point lead all through the fourth. The ball would not fall for Borger, and they could not get ahead despite the Pampa turnovers. With 4:50 remaining in the quarter, Lawson hits a three to keep the ladies behind by four. Gillum has a big defensive rebound that leads to Wood getting fouled on the other end. She hits both free throws to make it a two point deficit. With under three minutes to play, the lead is still four for Pampa. Prater finds Wood again for another field goal to bring it to 50-48, Pampa. Wood grabs an offensive rebound, and is fouled on her made shot. She completes the three point play, but Borger is still down by two. Loftis fouls out, and the Lady Bulldogs come up empty on their next possession. Pampa turns it over, and Borger has a chance with 16 seconds left in the game, down by three. Lawson drives, but comes up empty. Borger is forced to foul, and Pampa takes it 58-52, despite a valiant effort by the Lady Dogs.
Wood had an outstanding game, reaching a double-double. She had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Borger. Lawson also played great on both ends of the court, with 11 points and 7 steals.
The girls fall to 0-2 in district play.
The Bulldogs opened their district play Friday night against a tough Pampa team.
The first three minutes of the game featured missed shots and turnovers from both teams. Pampa finally scores three minutes in, and Hearon answers with a three point play after he is fouled on a fast break. Hearon then finds Newton for two, and Myers hits a free throw for Borger. That would be all the scoring they would get in the first, down 9-6.
By the second, Borger was already in the foul bonus. Lopez hits a field goal after rebounding his own miss. Embers goes two for two from the line, and Hudson finds Rawlinson for two on the fast break. A Hearon steal leads to another three point play for him. Lopez hits another two, but then Pampa hits back-to-back threes. Butler splits the defenders and lays it in for the last points of the half. Borger is down 26-22.
The third begins with two from Newton. Pampa hits back-to-back threes again, and they go up by 10 early in the second half. Borger has no answer, and have turnovers on consecutive possessions. Newton hits another jumper, and then Felker and Newton hit threes for Borger. Pampa wouldn't relent, and added two of their own to keep a healthy lead on the Dogs.
A three from Embers starts the fourth off in the right direction, but Pampa has an answer. Felker hits another three for Borger, but the lead is just too great. Hearon has a steal that leads to two, and Wilson and Landers each have a bucket before time expires. Pampa wins this one, 67-51.
