The Sunni Reeves fundraising auction has come to a successful end.
Back in October a beautiful baby girl by the name of Sunni Nicole Reeves was born. At 21 weeks gestation she was diagnosed with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Her parents Shawn and Whitney Reeves found a medical institution in Houston to get Sunni the care she needs. Shawn and Whitney also have two small boys attending school, Ryder and Cooper, so they both travel back and forth to give their time and attention evenly to their children.
Sunni has been through several surgeries and expensive procedures.
“I saw that her repair surgery alone was $24,000,” said Sunni’s mother in a blog post.
Shortly after her birth, family and friends of the Reeves family started a fundraising auction on Facebook to gather funds for help with the outrageous medical bills and travel expenses.
The auction ended Dec. 1, 2012.
According to the Facebook page, “Almost all of the items have been paid for and we’re happy to announce we’ve raised over $8,000 for Sunni! You all should feel very proud of yourselves for sharing her story, liking this page, donating, and bidding for such an amazing little girl. We’re still in awe of the kindness and compassion shown when we all came together to help one precious ray of sunshine.”
If you want to donate directly to Sunni, there is an account set up at Pantex Federal Credit Union.
