Betty Ann was born on February 19, 1929 in Macon, Georgia, to William Russell and Ethel Gladys Grant, and passed from this life on Christmas Eve – December 24, 2012. She was 83. She has two brothers, David Russell and Charles Mullis Grant, both of Macon. She married Beale Barnard Denton on January 1, 1950, and they had six children, She has 23 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Betty was a Medical Technician for 25 years, and worked for The Doctor’s Clinic in Borger, and at the Macon Hospital and Golden Plains Hospital occasionally as well. She served her community in many capacities and activities including the Stamp Club, Genealogy Club, Grandmother’s Club, Girl Scouts as a leader, and she enjoyed square dancing, macramé, and had numerous pen pals who continue to write her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Beale, two grandchildren, one brother, Donald, and her parents. She is survived by her six children, Dan Denton of Amarillo, Debbie Madden of Odessa, David Denton of Lake Jackson, Karen Wright of San Antonio, Mary Hare of Panhandle and Dollie Miller of Amarillo, all her grandchildren, her two brothers, and many, many cousins, friends and loved ones.
Mrs. Denton will lie in state at Brown Chapel of the Fountains on December 26, 2012 and December 27, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Brown Chapel of The Fountains at 2:00 PM with Elder James Baker and Elder Don Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger.
Directly after the Funeral Service the Family will gather at the Primitive Baptist Church, 608 Missouri Street in Borger, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM to greet friends and refreshments will be served.
Memorials may be made to The Cottages at Quail Creek, 6811 Plum Creek Dr, Amarillo, TX, 79124, for their dedicated service to those with Alzheimer’s and all the love they gave to Betty in her last few months.
