Hutchinson County Museum is presenting a new exhibit. This exhibit features handmade Christmas cards by kids. Kids of all ages are invited to create 8 ½” x 11” Christmas cards that will be displayed at the museum through the month of December. The art needs to be 8 1/2” x 11” on any type material. Artists are asked to put their name, age and school on the front of the greeting. Art work needs to be at the museum by Nov. 26 and can be dropped off or a staff member will make arrangements to pick it up.
A few Christmas cards were made at Borger Word of Life Church on Sunday, Nov. 18 under the direction of Amanda Garrard. "The kids are excited about seeing their art work at the Museum.” said Lynn Hopkins, Museum Administrator. She continued to say, “ We want the Christmas artwork that is normally posted on the family refrigerator.”
“This is not a competition; it is a fun venue for kids to express Christmas greetings to neighbors. Everyone loves kid’s art and the museum will be their art gallery wall this Christmas,” said Hopkins.
On Monday, Dec. 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. kids are invited to come by the museum and make a Christmas card for the display. Supplies will be given to the kids so they can make a masterpiece for the museum and there is no charge.
The museum is located at 618 N. Main in Borger. Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff members are working on Monday, but the building is closed to the public. Arrangements can be made for dropoff. For any questions contact Lynn Hopkins at 273-0130 or email her at email@example.com
