A Democratic legislative candidate up for election next month is stopping in Borger this weekend.
Abel Bosquez, the Democratic challenger to Walter “Four” Price for the 87th District Texas Legislative Representative seat, will be in Borger on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Lone Star Restaurant. He will be there from 5:30-8 p.m. to talk with area citizens.
Bosquez is called “the working people’s candidate” in the race against Price, the incumbent from Amarillo, who is an attorney specializing in business.
Along with Price, Bosquez is a resident of Amarillo, where he works for Pantex. His wife Nancy is employed as a justice of the peace for Potter County. The couple has one son, three daughters, and a grandson.
Bosquez is an ex-Marine who knows the value of hard work and dedication. He worked in several jobs following his tour of duty in the USMC, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in union leadership and administration.
He went to work for Pantex in 1982, and raised his children in a solid middle-class family with Christian values and beliefs. He and his family are members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
The 87th Legislative District was formed in recent state redistricting to include Amarillo, Borger and Dumas. Bosquez has said he wants to represent all the residents in the 87th District in promoting better education and opportunities for the working class people and families of Texas. He is eager to learn more about Hutchinson County residents and their interests.
