Services for Doris E. Wofford, 83, of Enid, Okla., were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, with Pastor Dan O’Daniel officiating. Arrangements were under the kind guidance of Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Doris was born out in the country, outside of Cherokee, Okla., to Leonard and Vivian (Campbell) Boston on June 2, 1929, and passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, in Enid, Okla.
Doris married Elvin Wofford, who graduated from the same high school, class of 1949, in Jet. They were married on Feb. 24, 1949.
Doris worked at Whaley’s Marine, and also for the National Park Service until 1986, which was her passion.
She and Elvin traveled all over in their fifth wheel and finally their motor coach into the valley. They moved to the valley to live there permanently in 1986. They moved to Enid, Okla. in 2007 to be close to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Elvin; three children, daughters, Connie and husband Bryan Lemaster, Tommye and husband Ralph Delmar and son, Michel and wife Brenda; one brother, Bob Boston; two sisters, Maxine Sweatt, Ruth Barnes and husband Clarence.
