The HOPE 7K run/walk is coming soon to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
“Twenty-five years ago, a small group of people in Hutchinson County started HOPE to raise money to help support those affected by cancer. HOPE is able to raise enough money to fund research and other needs of the American Cancer Society. The ACS is a community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service,” said HOPE chairman Wonder Smith.
This event will be held on Sept. 15, 2012, at Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument.
According to Smith, there will be several hundred from across the panhandle attending and participating in this event.
