The Hutchinson County Crisis Center is set to host its annual telethon.
This year’s telethon will be the best yet, with plans in the works to auction off a Borger Police Officer to almost everything under the sun.
The telethon is held once a year to raise needed funds for the HC3 program and to help child and adult victims of sexual assault and family violence.
This year’s telethon is Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Phillips Building, 300 W. 6th Street from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Admission for this event will be free and there will be door prizes along with a silent auction and guest speaker.
If you are unable to attend the event, it will be live on Cable channel 11 or on the city’s website: ci.borger.tx.us - click on Channel 11 live.
HC3 was formed in 1995.
This agency was funded initially by community donations from its first telethon, which raised almost $25,000.
Today, with a budget over $300,000, the agency continues to grow, annually increasing the client base, services provided, and services available.
