On Friday morning, Borger ISD Athletic Director Leslie Young announced the hiring of four new coaches who will fill the head coaching positions in four different sports at Borger High School for the 2012-13 school year. The new head coaches include Ron Francis in girls’ basketball, Mike Hill in volleyball, Kevin Hall in boys’ track, and Amy Hall in girls’ track. The four coaches were approved for hiring during the Borger ISD School Board meeting on Thursday, June 14th.
Francis is a Texas Tech University graduate and comes to Borger with 12 years of coaching experience. Francis spent a lot of time coaching in the South Plains area, where he was an assistant coach at Levelland and served as a head coach at Kermit, Meadow, Crosbyton, Roby, and Springlake-Earth. Before coming to Borger, Francis had taken a break from coaching to become a private business owner the past couple of years. Francis takes over for Travis Nicks, who resigned in May after serving as the Lady Bulldogs Head Coach the past three years.
Hill will come to Borger after working the past three years as the Athletic Director at the Chiang Mai International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Hill is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, with 22 years of coaching experience. He has coached in Texas, New Mexico, Utah, and South Korea. Hill takes over for Jason Carter, who took a administrative job with Roby ISD.
Kevin and his wife Amy Hall come to Borger after serving as coaches at Pine Tree ISD in the Longview area.
K.Hall has 22 years of coaching experience, which includes 16 years serving as a head track coach. K.Hall takes over for Roy Cash who accepted a job with Amarillo River Road ISD in May. K.Hall will also work as a varsity football assistant coach.
A.Hall has 10 years of coaching experience, which includes serving as the head girls track coach at Pine Tree the past six years. A.Hall’s 2012 team won the District 14-4A District title this spring. A.Hall replaces Young as Borger’s Head Girls Track Coach. A.Hall will also serve as an assistant coach in volleyball.
