The Sanford-Fritch ISD board of trustees is seeking to fill a vacancy.
Jim McClellan, SFISD Superintendent, said that due to a vacancy on the SFISD board of trustees, the board will be appointing a member of the community to fill the open seat.
“The board would like to encourage anyone who lives within the boundaries of the SFISD and would like to be considered for this appointed position to write or type a letter, no longer than one page, expressing your desire to become a member of the Sanford-Fritch ISD Board of Trustees,” he said.
Letters should be submitted to the address below, and will not be accepted after 12 p.m. April 27, 2012. They can be submitted to Sanford-Fritch ISD, Attn: Board President, PO Box 1290, Fritch, TX 79036; or via e-mail to email@example.com .
Letters will be reviewed from May 8-31, with interviews taking place from May 8-June 8. The appointment of the new member will be shortly thereafter.
If a vacancy occurs on the board, whether by death, resignation, lack or residency or other qualification, or involuntary removal, the remaining board members may fill the vacancy by appointment until the next board member election, or may order a special election to fill the vacancy.
If more than one year remains in the term of the position vacated, the vacancy shall be filled no later the 180th day after the vacancy occurs.
An election to fill a vacancy shall be to fill the unexpired term only. To be eligible for board appointment, a person must have the qualifications set forth in the election code.
