
On Thursday evening, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen got their first win in WJCAC play by beating the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) Broncos 71-70 in Roswell, N.M.
Several Plainsmen had big games including Taquan McDew scoring 18 points, Earl Hill 15 points and 12 rebounds, Ronald Scott 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Alex Zivkovic 7 points and 11 rebounds.
The win improves the Plainsmen to 9-11 overall, 1-3 in WJCAC, while NMMI drops to 8-10 oveall and to 1-3 in WJCAC play.
The Plainsmen will look to get their second win in a row over a New Mexico team on Monday evening when they host the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds (14-6, 2-2) beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the BCAC.
