AMARILLO – Roger Alan Wilson, 66, died Jan. 22, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Trinity Fellowship Church, North Ministry Center, with Dwayne Hollis officiating. Arrangements by Cox Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Westlawn Cemetery, Fritch, TX. Arrangements by Cox Funeral Home.
Roger was born in Compton, California on Dec. 15, 1945, and raised in Fritch, where he graduated from Sanford-Fritch High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, during which time he saw action in Vietnam. Roger married Annette Crook in Fritch on June 5, 1969. During his career, he worked as a pipe fitter at Pantex. In his spare time, he enjoyed landscaping and yard work and took great pride in his work. Roger was an avid shopper and was known for his ability to return anything. The joy of his life was being “Paw” to his grandkids and watching them compete in their sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his father, E.W. Wilson and a brother, Harold Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Wilson of Amarillo; his daughter, Shelly Harrison and husband Mike of Amarillo; his son, Don Wilson of St. Charles, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Sheldon Wilson, Drew Wilson, Micalynn Harrison, and Austin Wilson, all of Amarillo; his mother, Lois Wilson of Fritch, Texas; his brother, Gary Wilson and wife Carol of Ft. Worth; 2 sisters, Elizabeth England and husband Hardy of Richardson, Texas, and Lori Groover and husband Doug of Turpin, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
