Tonight bragging rights and climbing up the District 1-3A standings will be on the line when the Pampa Harvesters and Lady Harvesters visit Tex Hanna Gym to take on the Borger Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs.
Tonight’s games are part of the Borger High School Basketball program’s “Pink Out” Night raising money for HOPE for Cancer Awareness.
Free t-shirts will be handed out at the door while supplies last, and donations will be taken for HOPE for Cancer Awareness. During the games, sausage wraps will be served by the Borger Basketball Booster Club in the concession stand.
The Bulldogs came out playing well in their district opener with Perryton on Tuesday, led by junior Jamon Hearon scoring 34 points. But good outside shooting and Bulldog foul trouble in the fourth period allowed the Rangers to leave Borger with an 11 point win.
If bragging rights over a rival weren’t enough motivation, the Harvesters will have some additional incentive tonight after Dalhart got the upset win over Pampa in overtime on Tuesday.
For a couple of weeks, the Harvesters were ranked in the TABC top 25 and have a solid inside-outside game led by seniors Reid Miller and Latigo Collins.
In girls’ action, the Lady Bulldogs will come out ready to get a little payback for their 48 point loss to the Lady Harvesters on January 10th.
The girls’ and boys’ junior varsity games tip off at 4:30 p.m. The varsity girls’ game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. followed by the varsity boys at 8:00 p.m.
The booster club will begin handing out t-shirts at the 4:30 p.m. games.
