The Borger ISD board of trustees will be meeting Tuesday evening.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in the board room of the BISD administration building, 200 East Ninth.
The board will administer the oath of office to new board member Bill Myers, who will be filling the spot recently vacated by longtime member Johnny Rusten. A public hearing will also be held on the AEIS report for 2010-11.
Campus and district reports will be given on Borger Middle School, Crockett Elementary School, and Paul Belton Early Childhood Center.
Under the superintendent’s report, school board recognition (“Helping Our Kids Shine”) will take place, along with discussion on enrollment for December 2011, dates to review, and the presentation of Update 92 affecting local policies.
October 2011 Exit level retest results, an AMAOs report, and the Region 13 Snapshot Report will be presented under monthly reports.
The board will take action on various items under its consent agenda, which include December 2011 payroll and disbursements, donations, and December meeting minutes. The board will also act on the EIAA (Local) update, the EIC (Local) update, the approval of fees for Brown, Graham, and Company, P.C. (auditors), and budget amendments. Financial and tax reports will be presented as well.
Under personnel matters, the board will act on appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of employees. It will also review substitutes, and discuss the superintendent’s evaluation, contract, and compensation.
Future agenda items to be discussed will be evaluation of administrative staff, administrative staff contracts, and an order of trustee election.
A time of open forum will be held for the public to express its views. Speakers are allowed five minutes, and the board is not allowed to comment on items brought up in open forum.
