After a month off for the Christmas break, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen men’s basketball team will return to the court tomorrow afternoon hosting Clarendon College at 4:00 p.m. at the BCAC.
The first half of the season saw the Plainsmen post a 6-8 overall record with the team going 3-3 in their last six games before the Christmas break.
Despite having an under .500 record, the Plainsmen have been outscoring their opponents in averaging 77 points per game and giving up just 73 points per game.
Three Plainsmen players are averaging over 10 points per game led by Taquan McDew with 14 points per game, Akeen Johnson just over 11 points per game, and Ronald Scott 10.8 points per game.
Scott has also done a good job distributing the ball and on rebounds, averaging four assists and four rebounds per game.
Clarendon College enters Saturday’s game with a 9-7 record, which includes a 88-80 win over Frank Phillips College back on November 16th in Clarendon.
The freshmen guard duo of Denzil Zachery and Jerard Graham have led Clarendon College this season, with both averaging over 11 points per game.
After Saturday’s contest, the Plainsmen will host Lamar Junior College on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. before opening WJCAC play on Monday, January 16th hosting Odessa College at 7:30 p.m.
