Are you ready to see the new hospital? The time is drawing near!
On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, a public open house for the new Golden Plains Community Hospital will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours will be taking place throughout the hospital during those hours, and will be held each quarter hour.
GPCH CEO Dennis Jack said during the public open house, citizens will be asked to pick up a BINGO card as they come in, and will take that card to various stations throughout the facility to find out what services the hospital offers. When the card is completed, it can be turned in for the opportunity to win an IPad.
“We want you to hear about all the things we have at the hospital,” he said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the Texas Department of State Health Services visited the site of the new hospital with an eye towards ensuring all construction phases met the strict requirements to be called a hospital. The Golden Plains Community Hospital passed that test with flying colors.
Contractor JE Dunn has worked tirelessly to complete this project on schedule, a truly remarkable feat.
The new hospital will have the latest in radiology equipment, including a 64 slice Toshiba CT, digital OR suites with the latest in infection control, four roomy LDRP rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum) and a modern kitchen, all with panoramic views of all of Borger.
A certificate of substantial completion was accepted by the Hutchinson County Hospital District Board of Directors with a date of Sept. 21, 2011, the day the work was officially completed.
The new facility will start treating patients on Monday, Oct. 24.
