With the new Golden Plains Community Hospital set to open, a certificate commemorating the occasion is set to be accepted this evening by the Hutchinson County Hospital District Board of Directors.
The board will meet at 7:30 p.m. this evening in the GPCH executive board room.
A certificate of substantial completion will be accepted and signed during the meeting.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2011, the Texas Department of State Health Services visited the site of the new hospital with an eye towards ensuring that all construction phases met the strict requirements to be called a hospital. The new hospital passed the test with flying colors.
The public open house is set for Oct. 22, 2011, and the first patients will be seen at the hospital on Oct. 24, 2011.
In other business, the board will hear an update on community support activities, including indigent care, will act on the HCHD’s adopted appraisal budget for 2012/FYI, a Stinnett EMS subsidy, a dispatching contract with the City of Borger, salvage of materials from the old hospital, and recommended future agenda items.
The board will also act on the August 2011 financial statement, disbursement approval, and an intergovernmental transfer.
County EMS reports will be presented, and construction and physician information will be presented by GPCH CEO Dennis Jack.
Action will be taken to tentatively schedule the board’s next regular meeting for Monday, Nov. 7, 2011.
Action will also be taken to approve meeting minutes from the board’s regular September meeting and a special meeting held later in the month, and a time of public comment will be held.
