The Borger Chamber of Commerce is about to kick off its 24th year of the Leadership Borger program. The program will begin Sept. 21, 2011.
The program is a one-day per month intensive look at the Borger community and Hutchinson County and an opportunity to gain knowledge to enhance participants’ existing leadership skills.
The program will conclude in April of 2012 with graduation planned at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet, which will take place in March or April.
Leadership Borger is designed to feature the following:
•Different perspectives in several areas of the community (education, health care, city and county government, etc.)
•Building of leadership skills through workshops, field trip tours, and hands-on training
•Present economic and community trends
•Building knowledge on challenges facing many facets of the community
Employers who enroll their employees will find that they will do the following:
•Develop new leadership skills and confidence in their leadership
•Enhance their knowledge of the community in which they work and live
•Develop new network channels with other class participants
•Build their knowledge and awareness of state and local facilities and resources Class size is limited. Those interested in participating need to return forms and enrollment fees immediately. The cost will be $350 for chamber members and $400 for non-chamber members.
Those needing to make billing arrangements for their company can call Crystal at 274-2211. The cost covers a shirt, banquet ticket, materials, trainers, speakers, meals, snacks, and some transportation.

•Oct. 19, 2011 – Tourism – National Park Service, Alibates, CRMWA, Airport
•Nov. 16, 2011 – Healthcare
•Dec. 14, 2011 – Leadership Potential and Issues Facing Leaders
•Jan. 18, 2012 – Education
•Feb. 15, 2012 – Your Community/Building Economic Bases
•March 7, 2012 – City Government
•April 6, 2012 – County Government and Community Services.
The chamber tries to hold firm to dates, but occasionally may be required to move a session for a presenter.
