HOPE 2011 is now just a little over a month away!
This year’s event is set to take place on Sept. 24, 2011, at the Crutch Ranch, with a theme of “Fiesta de la HOPE – Viva la Cure!!!”
The box office for HOPE will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Wells-Fargo Bank, located at 503 North Deahl in Borger. Tickets are $180 and admit one couple. Purchases will continue until sell-out.
No one under the age of 21 will be admitted and an ID and HOPE ticket will be required for entrance into the event. The bartender will have the right to check IDs.
Events will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a welcome party for sponsors and underwriters. Appetizers will be served at that time and gaming will begin.
General admission attenders will be welcomed at 7 p.m. The silent auction will open, and the Spirit of HOPE will take place. Attenders are encouraged to stop by promotions to purchase HOPE 2011 caps and t-shirts at this time, along with purchasing raffle tickets.
At 8 p.m. dinner will be served, which is being prepared by Joe’s Catering. On the menu is carne asada, grilled chicken breast with jalapeno cream sauce, salad with black bean and corn dressing, buracho beans, rice, chips with red and green hot sauces, queso, and guacomole, and tres leches cake and key lime cups for dessert.
At 8:45 p.m. Honorary Chair Shana K. Richardson will speak and the ACS Donor Awards Presentation will take place. The silent auction will be closed at this time.
A live auction will take place at 9 p.m., followed by Texas country music star Aaron Watson taking center stage at 9:30 p.m. His most recent record release is Angels and Outlaws. The silent auction will also resume at this time.
At 11 p.m. the Ritas and Rocks winner will be announced. One hundred and thirty-five margaritas will be available at $100 each. With each glass purchased, attenders will receive a chance of winning a $4,999.99 gift certificate to Duncan and Boyd Jewelers. Drinks are first come, first served.
The raffle ticket winner will also be announced at this time. The grand prize is a San Antonio “Fiesta” getaway. The package includes accommodations for two people for three nights at the Riverwalk Hyatt, airfare, San Antonio Spurs tickets, tickets to Sea World, and dinner one evening at the Riverwalk. The package is valued up to $1,800. The second prize is a deluxe Dallas Cowboy package.
Attenders will also have the chance to dance under the stars with the Buster Bledsoe Band at 11 p.m. The band was named the Best of Amarillo Local Country Band in 2010.
All purchases made at HOPE may be charged, then paid in one lump sum at the HOPE Bank. Charges may be made for Ritas and Rocks, the raffle, special events, auction, and the Spirit of HOPE.
Attenders do have the option of paying at each venue at the time of purchase. In order to charge purchases, attenders must have filled out a registration card. These can be found at the HOPE Box Office, the dome the night of the gala, or at the HOPE bank at the ranch.
Anyone wishing to bid in the auction is required to have a preassigned number (issued to guests upon arrival). Payment may be made by credit card, cash, or check payable to American Cancer Society – HOPE.
The buses will board at the aluminum dome at 5:05 p.m. for sponsors and at 6:15 p.m. for general admission attenders. Refreshments will be provided while attenders wait to load the bus. Buses will be running all evening in 15-minute intervals.
To ensure the safety of HOPE guests, an alternative means of transportation is being provided to get attenders home after the event ends, called HOPE’s Ride Home. Two executive SUVs will be available at the dome to provide a free ride home for anyone who feels he or she cannot drive.
Due to the wildfire danger and the event being held on private property, smoking will not be permitted the night of the event.
