Geraldine “Jeri” Osborne, 73, a former Panhandle resident, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Buddy Payne, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Jeri was born on Sept. 2, 1937 in Dimmitt, Texas, to Clerice and Beulah Rhoade. She was a lifetime Panhandle area resident. She married James “Jim” W. Osborne on Aug. 23, 1958, in Panhandle and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a homemaker and farmer, member of the Methodist Church, Red Hats, Women Involved in Farm Economics and School Finance Committee. She was a Carson County Republican chairman, and a past school board member and teacher.
Jeri is survived by her son James Michael “Mike” Osborne and wife Connie of Scottsdale, Ariz., two daughters, Dana Osborne Porter and husband Patrick of Wolfforth and Judy Osborne Jaksha and husband John of Austin, sister Dorcas Weatherred of Plainview, two grandchildren, Jewel and Joy, and special nieces and nephews, Randy Rhoades, Jennifer Ann Pigg, Steven Cagle Davis and Tammie Beck.
