Your party starts at Prime Time Party Zone

December 6, 2012

If you want to throw a party to remember, it can start right here in Borger at Prime Time Party Zone.
Prime Time Party Zone, located at 517 North Main, is owned by Carl and Debi Duso and their daughter Kimberly Duso.
Debi said that when she and Carl retired, they chose to stay in Borger. Their daughter had chosen to stay here to raise her boys in a small town atmosphere.
“We love living in Borger and wanted to make a contribution to its growth,” she said. “We knew we wanted to open a family business so we began to look for something that would use our talents and skills. We also wanted to fill a need of the community so we explored what was missing.”
When Debi and her daughter were driving to Amarillo to buy party supplies for her grandson's birthday, they realized that there was no place in Borger to buy unique party supplies. This sparked the inspiration for Prime Time Party Zone.
“That was our concept, to keep Borger residents from having to drive to Amarillo to buy party supplies,” she said. “Our vision started out with tableware, cards, and gift wrapping supplies. But now the business has gone far beyond that original idea. As the community has come in to ask for products, we have responded by adding those products to our inventory.”
Prime Time Party Zone recently held a celebration of its first year in business on Nov. 20. Debi said the last year has been a wonderful, new adventure for the family.
“The greatest memory has come when I know that I have helped someone with a party or event,” she said. “We have loved owning our store. We see so many people and enjoy visiting with them. Honestly, we love what we are doing.”
The store has a variety of party supplies for all occasions. It can order for any occasion, but it carries supplies for birthdays, retirement, over-the-hill, wedding shower, and many other occasions.
Prime Time Party Zone also carries a variety of gifts that are sure to put a smile on the face of the receiver. The store carries Webkins, Amazing World animals, and Nakama pets. One of its specialties is balloon bouquets, and there are over 200 designs of mylar and latex balloons from which customers can choose.
Debi said that customization is really what the store does best.
“We can customize gift bags for your special events,” she said. “Kimberly customizes invitations for all occasions, including birthdays, weddings, graduations, and showers. Our motto is, 'Your Party Starts Here,' and that means we will customize your party unique to your needs.”
The store is also offering services to get its customers in the Christmas spirit. Kimberly is making customized Christmas cards using family pictures. The store is offering a gift wrapping service for people who want beautiful gifts under the tree but don't want to have to wrap them.
“We have a large selection of Christmas wrapping paper and gift bags,” Debi said. “We have many goodies for those Christmas school parties. We have teacher gifts, and don't forget, we will customize them. We have stocking stuffers. We have cupcake and candy boxes and zip lock Christmas bags for those homemade treats. We have Christmas gifts and ornaments. We have a beautiful selection of Christmas stockings. We have many Christmas stuffed animals.”
The store can order almost anything to make a person's party special.
“Party supplies, banners, gift wrap, balloons, you name it, we will try our best to get it,” Debi said.
The Dusos hope as people discover they are in business, they will begin to trust us to help them plan their special event.
“Customization is what we do best,” she said. “We are increasing our inventory as people let us know what they need.”
The original vision of Prime Time Party Zone was to fill a void in the community. Debi said that is still the store's mission.
“We get to help people plan for happy events, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduation parties, etc.,” she said. “It is so rewarding to be able to use the special talents God has given us to work for our community. There is just something special about the people in Hutchinson County. We love being able to serve the communities of Fritch, Stinnett, and Borger.”
Debi said working with organizations like Care Net, Living Water, Relay For Life, and others has been rewarding. She said the area has standards her family values, and it is a community that honors God with many churches that minister to the spiritual needs of the people.
“It is a community that encourages families to grow through organizations like TCY, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts,” she said. “It is a community that promotes patriotism and honoring those firemen, policemen, and soldiers who protect us, even with their lives.”
