WTHS seniors receive Academic All-State honors

December 18, 2012

Five West Texas High seniors have been selected to the Academic All-State team for the 2012 volleyball season. Not only do they exhibit talent on the court, they also strive for excellence in the classroom.
The Texas Girls Coaches Association selects the girls from all conferences. They must be seniors, have a GPA of 94 or above for grades 9-11, and must be a team member in good standing to qualify. The athletes are nominated by their varsity coaches. Varsity coaches must be a member of TGCA by November 1st for their athletes to be eligible for the honor.
The Lady Comanches receiving this great honor are Devin DeLapp, Natalie Franklin, Aaliyah Sun, Bekah Wallace, and Rachel Wallace.
Congratulations, ladies, on a job well done!
*(Note: In Tuesday's print edition, Natalie Franklin's picture was incorrect. The full piece will run again with the corrected picture in Wednesday's paper. The sports editor regrets the error.)
