As part of the WTHS athletic department, the school’s basketball teams will benefit from the $10,000 award being received by the department from Frito-Lay Friday morning.

The West Texas High School Sports Department recently received notice that it will be receiving a special award.
The department was notified that it won $10,000 From Frito-Lay. It will receive the award as part of the ‘Score for Your School’ promotion and will accept the check from Frito-Lay North America during a special assembly this Friday, March 25 at 9am at the West Texas High School on 600 Stewart Ave., Stinnett.
The department won Frito-Lay’s “Score for Your School” promotion this fall by having the most votes for a Division 1A school in the state of Texas.
Frito-Lay launched the “Score for Your School” promotion allowing Texas high school sports fans to win up to a $10,000 donation for their sports programs. Schools collected one point for each Frito-Lay product a fan purchased, then registered on a website. Six schools across the state have won the top $10,000 prize.
Through this promotion, Frito-Lay is giving away a total of $90,000 to schools across Texas.
