Work on Borger’s new Subway restaurant is continuing to progress.
Frank Wingate, one of the operating partners of Subway, said work on the new location is going well, although things have gone a little slower than anticipated.
“We had a delay of some of the materials that has slowed us up some,” he said. “We definitely won’t be serving turkey for Thanksgiving at the store.”
However, Wingate did say the store equipment is due to arrive now at the end of November and they will get everything up and running and training folks in the early days of December.
He said he hopes to be open by mid-month, if not sooner.
“We will definitely be open by Dec. 15 and working everyday to beat that date,” he said.
Wingate said there has been a good response of applications and hiring will begin in the next couple of weeks.
“We are looking at longer open hours at the new store and perhaps a couple of optional food items now that we have room for inventory,” he said.
“Thanks to everyone for their support.”
Wingate and his wife Sherry, along with Jeff and René Brain, are the operating partners of Subway in Borger.
