Wilson Street to be closed Saturday for electrical line upgrades

March 9, 2012

Wilson Street will be closed for upgrading of electrical lines on Saturday, March 10, said Jesse Shuffield, Senior Designer with Xcel Energy. The street from Main to Florida will be barricaded between 7 a.m. and noon on that day, he explained.
“It’s an upgrade project,” he said. “We’ll be rebuilding and upgrading our electrical facilities in that area.”
Barricades will be placed on Main and Florida as well as at other street entrances.
“It’s for safety,” he said. “It could create a potentially dangerous situation for citizens as well as our employees and we don’t want that to happen.” He said the City of Borger has been contacted regarding the project. Fortunately, citizens will be able to take detours to reach their destinations.
