William, (Bill) Sprague

William (Bill) Sprague, 87, of Austin, Texas passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Legend Oaks Health Care Facility in Kyle, Texas.

 

He was born on January 9, 1927, in Haskell, Oklahoma to Myrtle Lee Hefley Sprague and William Sprague.  After graduating from Haskell High School, he joined the United States Navy and served during World War II.  He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1950 with a degree in Pharmacy and began his professional life selling pharmaceuticals for Eli Lilly for many years. He later owned and operated several pharmacies and ultimately retired with Eckerd Drug Company.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Lee Sprague, his stepfather, A.R. Payne, and his daughter, Marsha Ann Armstrong.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Oteka; son Billy Sprague and wife Kellie of Thornton, Colorado, son Barry Sprague and wife Sharon of Austin, Texas, son Brad Sprague and wife Jeannette, also of Austin, and daughter Marilyn Cyr and husband Rollie of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; grandchildren Lance Parker and Krista Dawson of Borger, Texas, Willow Sprague, Wyatt Sprague, and Sawyer Sprague of Thornton, Colorado, Sydney Sprague, Ryan Sprague, Emily Sprague, and Will Sprague of Austin, Texas, and Kyle Cyr and Hailey Cyr of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and great grandchildren Britni Jordon, Slade Parker, and Bryce Parker of Borger, Texas.

 

Services will be conducted graveside at Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma. 

 

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association.
