On Thursday evening, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen found themselves on the losing end in their WJCAC games with Western Texas College in Snyder.
(Men) Western Texas College 85 Frank Phillips College 77
The Plainsmen started the game playing well and owning a 34-31 lead at halftime. But Western Texas rallied in the second half at home to pull away for the win.
Ronald Scott led the Plainsmen in scoring with 23 points, followed by Taquan McDew with 15 and Akeem Johnson with 12 points along with nine rebounds.
The Plainsmen drop to 8-10 overall and 0-2 in WJCAC play.
(Women) Western Texas College 56 Frank Phillips College 44
The combination of 23 turnovers and only shooting 24% from the floor proved to be a deadly combination for the Lady Plainsmen, as Western Texas was able to build a lead early and beat FPC 56-44.
The Lady Plainsmen drop to 0-2 on conference play and 5-12 overall for the season.
Both teams will return to the BCAC on Monday evening taking on South Plains College in a doubleheader with the women tipping off at 5:45 p.m. followed by the men at around 7:30 p.m.
