Weekend motorcycle wreck claims life of driver

April 21, 2014

A motorcycle accident that occurred over the weekend claimed the life of Billy Duane Vinyard, 39, of Borger.

According to a press release from Texas Department of Public Safety Senior Trooper Chris Ray, on April 19th, Vinyard was traveling northbound down FM 280 on his 2013 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. Vinyard, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, lost control of the motorcycle "due to unsafe speed for the curve in the roadway", overturning the bike as a result.

Vinyard's passing was declared by Justice of the Peace Shila Hart at 4:16 p.m.
