Votes in for council elections in Borger and Stinnett

The votes are in for the Borger and Stinnett City Council elections, and the people have spoken.
According to an unofficial vote tally, Brandy Callahan will be the newest member of the Borger City Council. She will be filling Place One on the council, which is being vacated by current council member Leon DeWeese, who did not run for reelection.
Callahan received 241 votes in the election over challenger Willy Adams, who received 195. She will be sworn in to the council at its upcoming meeting Tuesday.
The Stinnett City Council will also have some new faces. According to results submitted by the City of Stinnett, challenger April Couch defeated incumbent Kim Johnston for the seat of Alderman, Place 2, by a vote tally of 137 to 76. Challenger Justin Hart defeated incumbent Donnie Hayes for the seat of Alderman, Place 3, by a vote tally of 162 to 55.
Jeff Irvin, who ran unopposed for the seat of Alderman, Place 5, received a total of 195 votes.
The City of Fritch voted on a crime control and prevention proposition. The proposition passed, with 35 voting for the proposition and two voting against.
