Virgil Hynes, 75, of Borger, passed away Monday Oct. 10, 2011, in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday Oct. 13, 2011, at Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Sneed officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Virgil was born June 2, 1936, at Tulsa, Okla., to Arvil and Nola Hilton Hynes. He drove a truck for Leeway Trucking for 26 years. He married Lela Howard April 7, 1955, at Borger. He loved his family, cars and motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Derril Hynes.
Virgil is survived by his wife Lela, sons Derril and wife Debbie of Borger, Bobby and wife Angela of Conroe, Texas, and Kevin and wife Shelly of New Braunfels, Texas; sisters, Olene Ferguson of Dumas, Ark., and Beverly Myers and June Hicks, both of Borger; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
