Guidelines

1. The Borger News-Herald is not responsible for photographs used in birth, wedding, engagement or anniversary announcements. We also reserve the right to refuse publication of photographs of poor quality. Photographs can not be returned unless they are accompanied by an appropriately sized, self addressed stamped envelope.

2. All information must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday or 12 noon on Tuesday before a holiday such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, prior to Sunday insertion.

3. Engagement announcements will be published if the announcement is submitted at least one month before the wedding, but not more than six months before the wedding. A photo of the couple may be included with the announcement at no charge.  Borger News-Herald is not responsible for information that is left incomplete or is not legible. Information beyond what is provided for on the form may be added for $25.

4. The Borger-News Herald does not print weddings that have occurred more than six-months past the receipt of the announcement.  A photo of the couple may be included with the announcement at no charge. 5. Announcements may be placed for any wedding anniversary. The Borger News-Herald does not accept announcements more than one month prior to event date. A photo of the couple may be included with the announcement at no charge. Two photos (then and now) will also be accepted without charge. Borger News-Herald is not responsible for information that is left incomplete or is not legible. Information beyond what is provided for on the form may be added for $25.

6. Birth announcements will only be published for ages zero (0) to six (6) month-olds.  
Announcements may include the baby’s name, the mother and father’s names, gender, weight and length, date and time of birth, hospital and town, grandparents and cities of residence, great-grandparents and cities of residence, and any brothers and/or sisters. Any information beyond what is printed on the form will constitute a $25 charge. A photo of the baby may be included with the announcement at no charge. Borger News-Herald is not responsible for information that is left incomplete or is not legible. If a certain date is requested, it will fall under the category of advertising and will have to be paid for. Babies must be fully clothed in order for the photo to be published. If the parents are not married, both parents must sign the announcement form.

7. Forms are available from the office at 207 N. Main, Borger, during regular business hours.

8. Any photos that bear a studio name on the front of or on the back of the photo or that bear a copyright notice will not be accepted for publication without a release from the photographer.

9. The Borger News-Herald will print the information requested on the form without charge. Additional information will require a charge.

All submissions will be edited for clarity, grammar and to fit in with the paper's style. The Borger News-Herald does not guarantee when such items will run or where the submissions will be placed in the newspaper.
