Wednesday, August 20 2008

By Donna Haynes
Sports Contributor
The West Texas Lady Comanches defeated Heritage Classical last night in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-16, and 25-22.  The win gives the Lady Comanches a 2-1 record with a win at Friona, the season opener, and a loss to Guymon last week at home.

Senior Olivia Contreras had eight assists.  Molly Thurman, also a senior, is becoming proficient with her serves with five aces.  Senior Erica Ramirez also served up five aces.   Seniors McKenzie St. Charles and Kayli Ewing each had a block.  Abby Summers hustled on defensive for five digs and Sarah Kelly had four kills.
The Lady Comanches had great team effort and lots of girls contributing to the win.  The Seniors are showing their skills and experience, leading the team to another win.
