By Brooke Huff Reporter Appointing a new member to sit on the Hutchinson County Hospital District board of directors is just one of the personnel matters the the Hutchinson County Commissioner’s Court will take action on at their regular meeting Monday morning, at 9:30.
Over the past month, interested parties have been sending letters of interest to County Judge Faye Blanks to be considered for the vacant position. After reading through the letters, the Commissioner’s Court is ready to make a decision to appoint a new board member. The new appointed member will sit on the board as a representative for Hutchinson County. Once appointed, the HCHD board will appoint a new chairman to take Jason Vance’s place. Other county personnel matters on the agenda include to consider and/or approve interim order amending the salary of assistant county auditor, and to consider and/or approve an order appointing Kay M. Thompson as the 84th and 36th Judicial District community supervision officer. The court will also consider and/or approve a request to dispose of unusable computer monitors in the District Attorney’s office, and unusable computer equipment and a broken Motorola cell phone with charger for Justice of the Peace # 1 In other business, the court will be discussing the proposal made by Tony Campidilli about several of the roofs throughout the county. Several months ago Campidilli made a presentation before the court about the quality of the county’s roofs. He said that many of them need to be worked on, and he requested using his services. On Monday, the court will consider and/or approve a roof management program for Hutchinson County buildings using local roofers, if available. They will also consider and/or approve the closing of the Aluminum Dome for walking from May 15, 2008 to September 15, 2008. Also on the agenda is the consideration and/or approval of a burn ban for the county. This matter may be addressed, but Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards doesn’t see a current need in reinstating the burn ban. At the end of the meeting, they will discuss regular personnel matters, to include a payroll report, elected/appointed officials’ reports, line item changes, transfers and/or budget amendments, if any, and advertising, opening, accepting, or awarding any bids. There will also be time for Commissioners’ reports, as well as a report by Judge Blanks.
