Stinnett CDC to hold public hearing |

Thursday, May 08 2008 |
By Brooke Huff Reporter At the April Stinnett City Council meeting, the council awarded a bid for the remodeling of the Community Building.
Jose Perez of JLP Construction made a bid to the city for $54,900, and once the bid was awarded, Perez said that they could start work as soon as possible. The city agreed to use part of their annuity fund for the project, with a $25,000 donation from the Stinnett CDC. The council agreed that by awarding the bid to Perez, with help from the CDC, they would have enough money left over for other projects around town. Even though the CDC board has designated the money toward the renovations and repairs to the building, they believe that they need to give the community a chance to voice their concerns regarding the contribution of funds to remodel the Community Building. They have already held one public hearing. A second public hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow at 12 p.m. at the Stinnett City Hall, 609 Mackenzie. All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing to express their views with respect to the contribution of funds. |
