The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1789 on Main Street officially has a new sign!
In early April, the old sign on the VFW building was removed so it could be replaced it with a new electronic sign from Sign Tronix in California.
Joe Nivens of the VFW said that it took about two and a half months just to find someone interested in putting the sign up on the building. D.E. Rice Construction worked to get the sign hung on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
The sign is seven feet tall and six feet wide. The new sign is a major step up from the old one and displays the time, date, and temperature on it.
Nivens stated that a salesman out of Denver sold the Pampa VFW its sign and came to Borger to garner interest. The new sign is bigger than the Pampa version.
Nivens said believes the sign will attract more people to the post, and hopes it will help the VFW to be better known within the community.
