Various fall, Halloween festivities taking place throughout county
October is full of fun fall events and exciting Halloween festivities throughout the county. A few family events that will be out in the community for citizens to enjoy include the following: The Spring Creek School Halloween Carnival is to be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011. The cafeteria will serve food from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the games and booths will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come in costume if you like! There will be lots of fun – games, bingo, cake walk, and some great door prizes. Tickets for food and games are being sold at the school for five tickets for $1 thru Oct. 28, 2011. At the carnival, tickets will sell for four tickets for $1. Students are also selling raffle tickets at $1 each. Raffle prizes include a flat screen TV, $50 savings bond, boys and girls bicycles, a $50 gas card, and a movie, dinner, and bowling package with a $50 Hastings gift card. The Johnson Park Youth Center, along with support from the Borger City Council made it possible for residents, to have the chance to visit a Johnson Park Insane Asylum for cheap between October 17 and October 29, 2011. Johnson Park Insane Asylum will be open Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and from 7 p.m. till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission will be $5. Children under 11 years-old should be accompanied by an adult. Director of Johnson Park, Annadon Keys, stated, “This is going to be the first year for the haunted house and we plan to make it an annual event for Hutchinson County.” This project has been underway for about two months to make it extra scary for everyone. Johnson Park Youth Center is at 1201 Bulldog Boulevard. For more information, call 275-9014.The First Baptist Church Fall Festival is set to be held on Wednesday, October 26 at the Aluminum Dome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free for all ages. Be sure to bring your canned goods, that will be donated to Living Water Ministries. A Nintendo 3DS will be given away in the special drawing. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Joining together, Bunavista Baptist Church and St. Andrew United Methodist will bring some fall fun by providing a evening of games on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the new Family Life Center of Bunavista Baptist, located at #2 Amaryllis. St. John’s Catholic Church will host the 53rd All Hallows Eve Carnival for Saturday, Oct. 29 in the Aluminum Dome from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. This is a “safe pleasant Christian environment and fun for the whole family.“ There will be great prizes, good food and new booths.
