Two arrested after robbery, standoff

Two local residents are in police custody after a robbery at a local convenience store.

Just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning, at least one armed person entered CEFCO’s 205 N. Cedar location where employee Brandie Ynojosa and Assistant Manager Jeremy Lynch were working, said employees at the CEFCO store.

The assailants demanded money and the employees complied. The robber(s) left with no injuries occurring.

The Borger Police Department said in a press release that officers were able to gather evidence that led them to suspects at 1000 block of Thrams.

Following what the BPD referred to as “a short standoff”, Rodger Dale Daniells, 36, and Natalie Sue Daniells, 28, were detained and eventually arrested in connection to the crime, said the release.

Rodger Daniells faces aggravated robbery charges (a first degree felony), as well as two counts of theft of a firearm (a state jail felony) and possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone (3rd degree felony.)

Natalie Daniells is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.

Representatives from CEFCO were unavailable for comment over the weekend.
The Borger Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when available.
