Frank Phillips College is coordinating a Truck Driving Training for local business and industry in conjunction with Amarillo College. Amarillo College has a comprehensive Truck Driving School and would like to visit with area business and industry representatives to determine their needs in the hopes that classes can be offered locally.
An informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Service Drilling Southwest Center for Access and Innovation building, room 102 at Frank Phillips College. Bob Matthews, director of the Truck Driving School for Amarillo College will facilitate the meeting. Dr. Jud Hicks, President of Frank Phillips College, encourages area companies who are in need of trained truck drivers to attend the open meeting. The meeting will be held to assess the needs of area business and industry to determine what classes could potentially be offered.
This opportunity is presented as a result of the collaborative agreement that Frank Phillips College and Amarillo College signed last fall. Dr. Hicks explained that Frank Phillips College does not have a Truck Driving Program, but we welcome Amarillo College into our service area to provide this opportunity to area business and industry. The intent of this collaborative agreement is to provide more opportunities for students.
RSVP your intent to attend the meeting to Kim Piedra, Coordinator of Continuing Education at Frank Phillips College, at 457-4200, ext. 777 or at email@example.com.
