Traffic stop yields two drug-related arrests

Clayton Miller Gray, one of two men arrested on drug charges last weekend

A traffic stop in Borger Saturday night resulted in the arrests of two local men, one of whom a wanted criminal.
At approximately 9:50 pm on the evening of January 18th, a Traffic Unit Officer with the Borger Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop in the 100 block of W. 8th Street. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered the driver, 28-year old Clayton Miller Gray of Borger, to be in possession of 1 gram of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), as well as drug paraphernalia.
The passenger, 41-year old Christopher “Chief” Garza was found to be in “possession of a dangerous drug”, a Class A misdemeanor.
During the investigation, Gray made an attempt to conceal and destroy evidence, which led to an additional charge of “Tampering with Physical Evidence”. Both this and the possession charge are Class 3 felonies.
Gray was also wanted for a previous warrant out of Hutchinson County for the charge of “terroristic threat”, a Class B misdemeanor.
Both Gray and Garza were placed under arrest and transported to the Borger Police Department where they were charged, processed, and incarcerated in the City of Borger’s Jail Facility.
