A traffic stop in Borger Saturday night resulted in the arrests of two local men, one of whom a wanted criminal.
At approximately 9:50 pm on the evening of January 18th, a Traffic Unit Officer with the Borger Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop in the 100 block of W. 8th Street. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered the driver, 28-year old Clayton Miller Gray of Borger, to be in possession of 1 gram of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), as well as drug paraphernalia.
The passenger, 41-year old Christopher â€śChiefâ€ť Garza was found to be in â€śpossession of a dangerous drugâ€ť, a Class A misdemeanor.
During the investigation, Gray made an attempt to conceal and destroy evidence, which led to an additional charge of â€śTampering with Physical Evidenceâ€ť. Both this and the possession charge are Class 3 felonies.
Gray was also wanted for a previous warrant out of Hutchinson County for the charge of â€śterroristic threatâ€ť, a Class B misdemeanor.
Both Gray and Garza were placed under arrest and transported to the Borger Police Department where they were charged, processed, and incarcerated in the City of Borgerâ€™s Jail Facility.
